Daniel has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation acknowledging a fundamental understanding of the principles of fiduciary duty, the standards of conduct for acting as a fiduciary, and a process for carrying out fiduciary responsibility. He also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designation, an executive, MBA-style, program that trains and certifies qualified professional advisors in the field of exit planning for business owners.
Daniel Guillen is a Partner and Managing Director at MGO Private Wealth. Alongside the MGOPW leadership team, Daniel brings deep expertise to and enjoys serving the unique needs of founders, entrepreneurs, real estate investors, and ultra-high net worth families.
Prior to joining MGO Private Wealth, Daniel founded Sentry Pacific Financial Group, where he helped individuals transition to the retirements they envisioned through collaboratively designed strategies and curated advisory services. He now helps investors, CEO founders and entrepreneurs develop comprehensive plans to maximize enterprise value, optimize wealth and legacy, mitigate risk, and facilitate the successful transition of their businesses and other appreciated assets, like real estate or stocks, while incorporating the desired cash flow and tax minimization strategies.
Daniel is active in a range of civic and philanthropic organizations and holds multiple board positions including his service on the board of the David’s Harp Foundation, a San Diego-based nonprofit, whose mission is to inspire, educate and empower “at-risk” and homeless youth to achieve academic success through music and more. He serves as Co-Chair on both the Investment and Planned-Giving Committees for Southwestern College. He also serves on the board for Family Health Centers of San Diego which provides caring, affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved persons. Daniel attended The University of California San Diego and studied Economics before launching his entrepreneurial career.
In addition to sharing a love of singing with his two boys, Daniel is an avid hacker on the golf course who lives by, and teaches on, the timeless stewardship and investment principals of planning, saving, and investing all within a framework of honor and legacy
